Pixel Pile #42 Cat Week: Kitty Collage #2 Here we have CoCo, in his Safe Zone, the
chair. Whenever he is confused, or mad, or has been scolded,
he hops on this chair, usually with a slightly bitchy "ME-YAT"
(he doesn't speak Cat too well). And although he now seems to
be more comfortable with having his picture taken, a couple
of months ago, this sequence would have ended with him retreating
from the camera. It's kind of a part of his "New Shoes" syndrome.
He never really even gets a good look at a visiting stranger,
he just sees some new shoes, and heads for cover.

Pixel Pile #41 Cat Week: Kitty Collage #1 The Nikon 990 has many shooting modes, one
of which is shown above, a 16 shot sequence placed in a mosaic.
Fuji has had whirring flashing black boxes pointed at her since
she was 8 weeks old, so she's unfazed by it. Here, she briefly
looks up to see what I'm doing, then returns to staring a hole
of disdain through Bosco. He and Coco were quite confused by
my cameras at first, but they've become a bit more accepting,
as you'll see in the collages for them over the next two days.

Pixel Pile #40 Cat Week: CoCo It may seem a silly picture, and it is,
but CoCo can be a difficult subject photographically. Not only
because he can be a exposure metering nightmare (yet another
black velvet cat sent to me by the Photo Demons), but because
he usually wears a slightly befuddled
look. That's about all you get. He doesn't seem to fully
realize he's a cat, and mostly emits barks, and sounds resembling
grunts. We sometimes call him "The Penguin", as he occasionally
sounds like Burgess Meredith in the old Batman Series. He's
our Special Child.

Pixel Pile #39 Cat Week: Bosco This indignant looking cat is Bosco, who
hates it when someone is on the balcony and he isn't.
"Hate it, hate it, hate it! Let ME-OOUUTT!" Bosco is the Perpetual
Teenager, always sneaking around, looking for trouble, even
huffs and puffs in disgust when you tell him, "No!" Luckily,
not too sneaky, as his nicknames are "Wide Load" and "BBK" (Big
Butted Kitty). Currently has a crush on Fuji, who finds his
advances disgustingly common and clumsy. Plus, she has claws.

Pixel Pile #38 Cat Week: Fuji Once a basket
kitty, always a basket kitty. Fuji has always been a one
person cat, in a one cat household. Well, until about a year
ago, when The Intruders arrived. You'll be meeting
them later. Needless to say, Fuji was not amused. I remember
about a year ago, my girlfriend said "I bet before you know
it they'll all be cuddled up sleeping together in the recliner."
I just smiled. Sure, honey. Now, Susan's lucky if she can stroke
Fuji without getting a hiss for her trouble. Sometimes, out
of the blue, she'll say, "I'm gonna go over there and pick her
up." Usually, I just I remind her that I'm really too busy to
take her to the emergency room right now, or tell her to go
put her leathers on first, and she comes back to her senses.
