You can look around town and see who's doing good business during the Olympics. The one's doing the best are the tent rental companies, but not far behind.....ferris wheel operators. I've seen three or four ferris wheels in the downtown area,
not having ever seen one there before in my life.
The building in the foreground is the BellSouth building, adorned with a special light display for the Olympics. It's pretty cool, but now I know why my phone bill has gone up. In the background is the Nationsbank Tower, a sore point for me. I've always considered it a blot upon the Atlanta skyline, because the design of the top makes it look like...well...they ran out of money before they could finish. So I was encouraged when they said they would have "spectacular" lighting added to the top of their building......I'm still waiting.

This is the facade in front of the air conditioned tent that is "Pomp, Duck, & Circumstance", set up at the corner of 10th and Peachtree. This cross between Cirque De Soleil, dinner theater, and the Marx Brothers originated in Berlin, toured Europe, and came to Atlanta for the Centennial Games. I've heard it's a great evening, but at $125 a head, I won't be bringing you the *inside story*. According to My Checkbook counter,
I will be Baloney Boy for the next month or two.
