PhotoDude.com is my playground, a gallery for my images, and a medium
for creative expression .... pretty much in that order. It isn't here
to overtly market my services. I figure, if you provide good creative
content, most people are intelligent enough to figure out that you
might be able to do the same for them. And I give them the opportunity
to hire me at the bottom of each page .... via e-mail. That's as much
"selling" as I feel like doing in this
format. But I digress. What is PhotoDude.com?
In a nut shell....
I am living proof of the explosive growth of the Internet. A summary
of my vast computer expertise:
On 1/20/96, I got my first computer, and dove headfirst into the deep end of
the HTML pool a month later.
On 4/14/96, I uploaded something resembling a *web page* called Fuji's Feline Tour .
Then in July and August '96, during a 17 day frenzy, I placed 150 images of the
Centennial Olympics in Atlanta on the Web, along with my daily impressions.
I unwittingly became one of the first individuals to "cover" the Olympics on the WWW, and
attracted far more attention than I ever expected, or possibly deserved.
On 9/1/96, I gave myself a combination birthday/Christmas present, and purchased a
domain. After three months of gestation, and more than two months of hard labor, www.photodude.com was born into
this world 1/19/97, perhaps just a bit prematurely. But it came into this world one day
before the first anniversary of my first computer purchase...purely by
coincidence, of course.
After about one month (2/22/97), PhotoDude.com has received approximately 1,000
visitors from 23 countries.
After about one year (1/16/98), PhotoDude.com has more than doubled in size (483
files totaling 18.5 MB spread over two servers), and received more than
7,000 visitors from over 125 countries.
In the middle of the year 2000, PhotoDude.com is averaging over 3,000 visitors
per month, and has just been redesigned into its third incarnation.
